Lush Colour Supplement - Jackie Oats

So on to my second review! I thought it might be best to start from the base upwards with the products I already own, so today's review is my foundation :D I've had this foundation for a few, never having used one before, but I already like it.

I've been a bit scared of using foundations in the past. I'm so ridiculously pale with my Irish skin that I thought if I ever wanted to wear foundation I was destined to look orange. And why bother anyway? My skin isn't exactly bad... Until the day I saw someone somewhere on the internet recommend this colour, Jackie Oats, to someone else with super pale skin; and it was only £8 so why not try it? Turns out the jar is tiny but nevermind :) A little goes quite far.

And I have to say, I am quite impressed. It doesn't have great coverage, so if you're looking to cover up acne scars or whathaveyou this probably wont be for you. However I have quite good skin, so was looking more for a product which evens my skin tone without being too heavy or obvious. This certainly does this. It does suggest mixing it with a moisturiser to turn it into more of a tinted moisturiser, but I found I really could not see a difference to my skin when applied like this, and it didn't really sink in/dry, which was annoying. So I now put on my moisturiser first (or my spf 50 face sun cream like I am doing now it's sunny outside), and then apply the colour supplement.

It goes on quite nicely, like a cream, really. I can't comment too much on the application, though, as I don't have a decent brush - mine leaves the foundation streaky, so I have to go over it with my fingers to even it out. It is buildable, so if you do want to put more on for more coverage you can. I have avoided doing this so far, due to my anxiety with not wanting to look too orange! It's a little shiny when you first apply it, but this soon dries after a few minutes.

I personally can't really see much of a difference from before I was using foundation, but my SO certainly has noticed my skin looking nicer, so it must be making somewhat of a difference, and the pictures certainly show a difference! My SO actually said I look more airbrushed haha :D However I think I still need an extra green base to get rid of further redness in my cheeks - I'm far too nervous about putting blusher on at the moment as my cheeks are already so red!

Overall, a decent product if you're not looking for a heavy coverage. I would certainly buy it again as it matches my paleness, which is something I haven't been able to get from any other foundation.

Now onto the pictures!

Yeah... It really is that small...

One thing I really like about Lush products is how they all have these stickers on them saying who made/packaged your item. Such a nice touch.

It looks so light, even in the jar!

This is generally the amount I need to use...

How it appears on the back of my hand...

Comparison! My freshly moisturised, shiny, and surprisingly red face, next to my face with the colour supplement on. And there is actually quite a difference! And my face matches! Woo!

Taken outside to show it in natural sunlight. Looks pretty good to me! Apart from the eye wrinkles... damn sun...

Barry M Lip Paint in Touch of Magic

So, straight onto the first review! This is the wonderful amazing magical lip stick that is Barry M's lip paint, in the colour touch of magic. This is a green lipstick which changes to a pink on your lips. This is such a lovely colour! Apparently, the colour adapts to the alkaline levels on your lips, so the colour will depend on your own personal pH level. Which hypothetically means that the colour is individual to you - but I'm not entirely sure I believe this to be true...

Firstly, the application was very nice. It has a lovely feel to it, not drying, but not overly moisturising. The only difficulty in applying it is that you can't see it on your lips to start with! So you have to extra careful not to go over your lips.

Within a few minutes the colour starts to show itself, getting brighter and brighter! It's such a gorgeous pink... And it keeps on getting brighter! Even after an hour of application it was changing colour (but I think it stabilised afterwards lol).

And my god, the staying power! Is this what people call a stain? The first time I put this on I put rather a lot on (due to not being able to see it, so I just put more and more on... Not what you're supposed to do!) and two days later I could still see traces of it! This time I was a little more conservative with the application (hah!) and it lasted all day, even after eating a burger from burger king. I love this lip stick! It's my first Barry M lip paint, but after this one, I think I'll be buying more!

Here it is in all it's green wonderfulness!

The lovely me with nothing on my lips.

Just after application. You can see a little colour...

 Just after application close up

About 5 to 10 minutes after application? Look at that wonderful smile ;)

Close up of 5 to 10 minutes after application.

Me being happy with my wonderful lipstick :D Here you can see how bright this is! (And this was only with a little bit on... it was much brighter when I accidentally put a lot more on the first time round oops!)

This is after about 5 hours wear... and after eating a burger... Pretty impressive if you ask me!

And there you have it! I hope my first review is alright :3

Come with me now, on a journey through time and space.... Or cosmetics....

Welcome to my new blog! My primary reason for starting this blog is to review cosmetics! I know there are already a load of these kinds of blogs on the internet, however I don't really care if anyone actually reads this one - it's just a place for me to keep track with certain products etc. Over on my tumblr (http://grumpasaurussss.tumblr.com/) you will find where I post pictures of different make up and nail stuff that I do; however I realised tumblr isn't really very good for reviewing stuff, so I made this one to do that :D

So yeah... I'm relatively new to the whole cosmetics world, having started to think about it seriously about 6 months ago. Unfortunately at the time I was unemployed and so didn't have the funds to do anything about my new found love. Happily, I now have a job which pays me money which I can spend a small amount each month on a few new products! Yey! In other words, this blog may be a little slow at updating - I won't have a lot of money, and will probably only buy 1 or 2 things a month (she says after buying a small haul without even seeing her first payslip...). So basically, if you want to see how certain make up products fair with a noob then look no further! This girl has almost zero previous knowledge in make up, so I have no idea what looks good and I have no preconceptions about certain brands so I will try any. Summed up - see whether a products is good from an (almost) non biased perspective!

And to anyone who does end up reading this, I hope you enjoy my journey as much as I will!
